Our Professors

AFSO’s academic programs are led by a distinguished global network of volunteer professors and educators from some of the world’s most respected universities and academic institutions. Our faculty includes professors, lecturers, and academic professionals affiliated with leading institutions across the United States and Europe. These scholars bring decades of teaching, research, and mentorship experience from top universities and apply the same academic rigor, standards, and care to their work with AFSO students as they do in their home institutions. The involvement of faculty from highly regarded universities is central to AFSO’s mission. Their participation ensures that our courses meet international academic standards, that students are exposed to university-level expectations, and that learning remains intellectually challenging, relevant, and transformative. For students who have been systematically excluded from higher education, access to instruction from world-class faculty is not symbolic—it is essential. AFSO professors do more than teach. They mentor students, design syllabi, assess academic progress, and help cultivate the critical thinking, confidence, and academic identity required to succeed in global higher-education environments. Many also support curriculum development and advise on program quality, ensuring that AFSO’s offerings remain credible, rigorous, and aligned with university-level learning outcomes. All AFSO professors serve on a volunteer basis. Their commitment reflects a shared belief that education delivered by experienced, high-quality faculty can preserve academic pathways, restore dignity, and expand future opportunities for Afghan women. Our professors are the academic backbone of AFSO. Their expertise, integrity, and generosity make it possible for our students to continue learning at a level that matches their ambition and potential.
