Stiebert, Johanna

Professor Johanna Stiebert, Ph.D. is Professor of Hebrew Bible at the University of Leeds and Director of the Centre for Religion and Public Life. Her research explores the Hebrew Bible in relation to gender, sexuality, violence, and contemporary social issues, with recent publications including Rape Myths, The Bible and #MeToo and Sacred Queer Stories. She has also co-led collaborative projects with African scholars and LGBTQ+ refugee communities, bringing academic work into dialogue with lived experience.
